Rincon Colorado

This zone is special because it offers the visitors the possibility of appreciating fossils of multiple organisms, including dinosaurs that lived in the region. This zone is open to visitors since 1994.

Rincon Colorado is located in the city of General Cepeda, Coahuila. West from Saltillo, you can get there with the highway Torreón-Saltillo.

Parque bosque de monterreal

This park is located 54km to the east of Saltillo, traveling in the federal highway.

It is worth a visit since it one of the best turistic of the region. In this park you will also have the option of practicing skii on a surface of artifical snow.

"La Villa de Santiago del Saltillo",was the name that was first given to this city, capital of Coahuila. At first the economic activities where sowing corn and wheat, growing apples, peaches, and walnuts trees. After that the principal activity consisted of sheep breeding and with its wool they made blankets, and the traditional sarapes.

The fair of saltillo is celebrated every October.

In 1930 the Agricultural University Antonio Narro was created. In the 1950's the Tecnologico de Saltillo and the University of Coahuila where created, and two decades later came the autonommous university of the northeast.
